A Malawian delegation led by the Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (MITC) Director General Mr. Kruger Phiri recently visited BITRI. The purpose of the meeting to draw on Botswana’s experience in diversified investment promotion, especially in the areas of mining, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), agri-exports, and rural industrialisation. It also aimed at strengthening government-to-government and business-to-business ties that advance industrialization and regional trade under the AfCFTA. 
 
Specifically, at BITRI the delegation was looking to identify areas of collaborations and to learn and exchange ideas on technology transfer, technology uptake and commercialization. The delegation was also taken on a conducted tour of the Centre for Material Science and the Additive Manufacturing Laboratory. The delegation which comprised Malawi senior officials included amongst others, the Chief Executive Officer of Malawi Mining Investment Company Mr. Leonard Kalindekafe and Director, Office of the President & Cabinet Mr. Mathias Silumbu.
